Survivor: "It's been 16 days since the night my soul broke. I had been living the trauma for nine years... But never had my kids lives been put in jeopardy. That was it. That was all I needed to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. But I had no one. ABSOLUTELY no one. All my family and friends are nine hours away. I knew I had to get out... But how!? So I reached out to B.A.D.A My message was simple "I need help!".... And that's more than what I got. I knew I needed out, I was determined... But with no truck how could I do it alone with two toddlers!? After many conversations with the B.A.D.A. team we decided that last Monday was the day. And like the angels they are... Showed up with a 16 ft trailer, a smile, and a helping hand. I had packed all week and in less than two hours... I was out. Now up until that point I had to do the leg work. I had to go looking at rentals for days on end, I had to pack my things, and I had to communicate my every move. That's important to understand. Why? Because this group got me out of a life threatening situation when I couldn't do it alone but I had to put in the work to make it happen. This group is exactly what they say they are. So if you're in my situation understand that they will help you every way they can but... It's up to you to do the foot work. It's not easy and I understand that better than anyone. However, it's worth it. Tonight as I write this... I'm in my own home, safe and warm. My children, have run and played all week.... And now are safely tucked in their warm beds safe and sound. No slammed doors, no screaming in the middle of the night, no more hurt hearts and bad nights... I am forever grateful for what this group did for me and will pay it forward every chance I get! So if you need to vent or don't know how to get out... Trust me... If they can help me out of the worst. We'll help you too! And yes me too!
